Understanding Mental Health

What is mental health?

Mental health is an essential aspect of our lives and overall wellbeing. It’s a state of emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. Additionally, it influences how we think, feel, and act as we navigate life. Good mental health helps us cope with stress, build healthy relationships, and recover from setbacks or negative situations. However, mental health can differ from person to person and some may require professional support to overcome mental health issues.

The Importance of Mental Health

Our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing are all included in our mental health. It has an impact on our everyday thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, which impacts our capacity to manage stress, interact with others and make decisions. Every stage of life, from childhood to adulthood, depends on having good mental health.
