What is Hay fever or Seasonal allergic rhinitis?

Hay Fever or Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis is a common allergy when you make contact with pollen, dust or any environmental allergens giving similar cold-like symptoms. It generally affects the nose, eyes, mouth and skin. Therefore when made contact, the body immune system detects these as allergens (harmful) and overreacts creating inflammation inside your nose.

Causes & Symptoms

The cause of hay fever comes from your surroundings whether indoors or outdoors, the body determines these as allergens. One of the main reasons is populated pollen that happens during spring and summer released from plants and others including:

  • Pollen from trees, plants and grass

  • Dust mites and mold

  • Animals with fur or feathers

Other triggers:

  • Pollution

  • Perfume

  • Cigarette smoke

  • Cleaning products
